Very happy with my purchase of the custom-sized white oak shelf

Very happy with my purchase of the white oak shelf. The material was superior, the craftsmanship was excellent and service was responsive. I am happy to report that the shelf arrived without any dents or chips whatsoever. That is pretty rare in my experience.

The shelf is beautiful!

The shelf is beautiful, made of solid wood, unlike the floating shelves sold at
such places as Home Depot where the laminate starts to peel off in short order.
Once installed the shelf is rock solid on the wall, again, unlike cheaper floating shelves which do not stay level, over time. Also a reasonable price for owning a handmade item that will last forever.

Actually Real Wood

You can tell it's solid wood the second you pick it up out of the box. mounted flat against our tile wall.

Fits our bathroom perfectly

We got a 36 inch oak shelf for towels above the tub. Super solid, clean look, and easy to hang once we marked the studs.

Nice light oak color

Hard to find light wood online that doesn't look yellow in person, but this white oak shelf matched our floor perfectly.

JUST BUY ONE!

You don't have to think twice about buying this shelf. I can't get over the insanely high quality of the wood, and this special bracket makes it seem like an elephant can sit on this shelf. It is clearly hand made and loved by the woodworker who made it. 12/10 would recommend this shelf!!!

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the actual weight capacity of these shelves?

When anchored into wall studs using our included HOVR™ Aluminum Cleat, a single shelf is rated for 300 lbs (at an 8” depth). This makes them the premier choice for heavy-duty kitchen shelving, capable of supporting stacks of stoneware, cookbooks, and cast-iron cookware without risk of failure.

How do you guarantee the shelf won't sag over time?

Traditional rod-based brackets create a single point of failure that eventually bows. Our "No-Sag Guarantee" is possible because our system uses linear support. The interlocking aluminum cleat runs three quarters of the length of the shelf, effectively making the hardwood an extension of your wall’s internal structure.

Is the finish safe for moisture-rich kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes. Every board is sealed with a professional-grade, water-resistant Matte Clear Coat. This finish protects against steam, splashes, and stains while maintaining the organic, tactile feel of the solid American Walnut or White Oak. Unlike veneers, our solid hardwood will never peel or delaminate in humid environments.

Why is there a 2–3 week lead time?

We do not stock pre-made, mass-produced boxes. Every shelf is a bespoke commission, handcrafted to order in our Long Island studio. This allows us to select the finest FAS-grade lumber and ensure a precision fit for your specific dimensions. In the world of fine furniture, quality is worth the wait.

Can I install these myself, or do I need a contractor?

The HOVR™ system is designed for a streamlined DIY installation. We include a "White-Glove" hardware suite (cleat, structural screws, and precision drill bit) to remove the guesswork. If you can use a level and a power drill, you can achieve a professional-grade, "zero-gap" result.

What is the difference between your solid wood and "real wood" veneers?

Veneer is a paper-thin slice of wood glued over compressed sawdust (MDF). Our shelves are 100% solid, furniture-grade hardwood. Solid wood possesses a natural warmth, weight, and "tactile soul" that veneers cannot replicate. Furthermore, solid wood is an investment—it can be sanded and refinished 50 years from now.
