Q3 Shareholder Update: Dividends Paid in Oxygen

Welcome to the Q3 Sustainability Report for The Mortise & The Hare. As a brand that relies exclusively on the earth's most beautiful raw materials, we view Mother Nature not just as our primary supplier, but as our majority stakeholder. And this quarter, the dividends are looking remarkably green.

Here are the quarterly figures. Over the last three months, exactly 172 of our sculptural, solid wood shelves left the atelier. True to our foundational promise, that means 172 new trees have just been put into the dirt. A precise one to one ratio.

If you commissioned a piece of White Oak or Black Walnut from us this quarter, thank you. Your shelf is currently anchoring your living space, and your corresponding tree is currently photosynthesizing somewhere out in the world. We consider that a highly successful diversified portfolio. If you haven't yet brought one of our pieces into your home, do not worry. You are still entirely welcome to breathe the secondhand oxygen we generated this quarter, completely free of charge.

At The Mortise & The Hare, we have zero interest in fast furniture, cold plastics, or pieces destined for a landfill. We build tactile, architectural fixtures meant to be felt, lived with, and kept. By finishing our work exclusively with natural, open pore hardwax oils, we ensure the wood remains as authentic as the day it was milled. Our ultimate goal is simple. The furniture we craft for your wall should easily outlast the time it takes for your replacement tree to mature.
